Introduction: Combat Veterans International Chaplain

What are the duties of a Chaplain? Well as a Chaplain for Combat Veterans Chapter Five, I have helped with weddings, memorial ceremonies, and visitation of those who are suffering with poor health. As a Christian, I believe the Bible has a lot to say about the issues that life brings to our door. My Aunt Melba sent me an email that said " we are not human creatures on a temporary spiritual adventure but we are spiritual creatures on a temporary human adventure." It is my sincere prayer that I can serve any and all combat veterans in this wonderful organization. I pray for Combat Veterans International daily.

As a Christian I would be remiss if I did not include the Gospel in any front door type of presentation. So bear with me and by GodĒs grace it will be simple and short. It really is as easy as A, B, C.

Admit that your are a sinner (Romans 3:23) and that there is nothing you can do to merit eternal life (Ephesians 2:8&9) Believe that Jesus died for your sins (Romans 5:8) and has risen from the dead in triumph over sin and death (1 Corinthians 15:3,4,55 &57).

Commit your life to Jesus Christ. Ask Him to forgive your sins and be your personal Lord and Savior. He will send His Holy Spirit to live within you, guide you and help you (Romans 10:13; John 14:26) Sample prayer: "Dear Lord Jesus, I admit that IĒm a sinner; I need your forgiveness. I invite you to come into my life as Savior. Please take control of my life and help me live for you. In Jesus name I pray, Amen."

It is my sincere desire to be available to serve as the Chaplain to all of CVI and their family members. If your local pastor is meeting your spiritual needs, please continue to use that resource. I support the ministry of the local church. If I can help you in your spiritual journey, you may contact me through the National Chaplain's email nationalchaplain@combatveterans.com. My home phone number is 360-876-9537.

The Battle Continues

Some of our brothers are still in battle
They go there each and every night
They look for safety in their bunker
From the danger and the fright
Others continuing on their patrols
Have been heard marching in the trees
Though they lie safely in their bed
Their thoughts never leave them at ease
They know the danger of the battle
They fear for brothers in harms way
They remember things they would do better
It haunts them each and every day

These have been AmericaĒs heroes
But it seems that people soon forget
A price is always paid for freedom
The precious life of a Combat Vet

Ps 80:6-7
6 You have made us a source of contention to our neighbors,
and our enemies mock us.
7 Restore us, O God Almighty;
make your face shine upon us,
that we may be saved. NIV
