Letter to Congress about firearms law

Thought you might be interested in seeing what I wrote. This is to Speaker Paul Ryan. I have written separate (and shorter) letters to our local reps but I don't expect much from them. Still worth writing so that at the least they can't claim that there was overwhelming support for more gun laws, ev...

Firearms law, Washington

Discussion came up regarding the legality of carrying a firearm while intoxicated. I stated no prohibition, other party stated illegal. Washington state firearms laws are contained in RCW 9.41 which can be found here. If you are going to carry a firearm it might be worthwhile to familiarize yourself...

PCB (Pretty Cool Bike)

The latest from Motoguzzi. First time I've wanted a non-Harley (other than sport bikes) in quite some time.

Deserter joins Foreign Legion, claims he was under duress

Officer deserts from the U.S. Army, then joins the French Foreign Legion. Claims he deserted because he was suicidal then joined the Legion under duress. What a maroon, as Bugs used to say. https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/volokh-conspiracy/wp/2017/10/25/soldier-feels-suicidal-deserts-from-u-s-ar...

Re: Run to National

Sounds like a fun ride. Staying overnight in Long Beach the first night? I can't make that ride as I'll be working the first half of the week but I may have to make that loop at some point with some of the guys from Chapter 1. Be a great chance for a party with each chapter as you roll through (of c...

Re: ABATE Spring Opener!

Looking forward to this. We will be coming out Saturday morning and staying the night. Unfortunately due to snow closures I am still working and so can't get off Friday to head out early.

Chapter 1 (or at least some of us) will see you there.

ABATE Swap Meet, Monroe, March 26

Evergreen State Fairgrounds. Chapter 1 will be there and set up for patches and other memorabilia. Chapter 6 usually shows. Other members from around the state often stop by to say hi and chat. Looking forward to seeing everyone and checking out the great deals on the parts we need to get ready for ...

Re: 1966 USMC All Correct Garande

Thanks Cheech. I had similar thoughts but the Garand not being a specialty of mine decided to forgo commenting. As you say though, a good price for this rifle regardless. Some day I intend to add an M-1 to my collection of M-14 style and various other historic military rifles, just not right now.

Re: Protocal

A bit long? Holy bad word. It's over two hours. I like their colors, though. Black and gold.

Just a note, Black Sabbath MC, been around for over forty years, has 24 Chapters. By those standards we're not doing too bad.

Whitehouse gunsmithing regulations

For those of you who haven't seen this story, the State Department recently decided to regulate gunsmiths. That means that anyone who works on guns will have to cough up about $2500 for a license above and beyond all the regulations put out by the BATFE. Here's the story: https://www.nraila.org/arti...
