Concealed Carry Reciprocity

Postby LT » Wed Jul 22, 2009 7:16 am

Late notice, but I just heard that they may vote on the Thune Amendment today. This is an amendment that would treat concealed carry permits like driver's licenses. If you have one from your home state, other states would be required to accept them. Normal state law restrictions would apply but you would be able, at a minimum, to travel throughout the country without having to worry about having a pistol with you.

This needs support and contact to your senators.

The measure failed by two votes.

Both our Senators voted "No". Patty Murray had the unmitigated gall to send out a letter stating that firearms issues should be left up to the states, this after being a rabid supporter of the Assault Weapons Ban and the Brady Bill.
